Abstract


The Profile of Education Supervisors in Turkey
The purpose of this research is to demonstrate supervisors’ demographic, socio and economic characteristics, their life styles and expenses, and their professional features and also to identify supervisors’ opinions of social, economic, political, and professional issues. This is a survey. The sample of this study included 651 supervisor. As a means of data collection was used the questionnaire included 39 questions. Supervisors mostly listened to Turkish folk music. They rather preferred reading novels. Supervisors spent their summer holidays on seaside report areas, and they didn’t have good knowledge of a foreign language. The majority of the participants were a member of any association or union in education. The majority of the participants also reported that they did not find their salaries sufficient enough but they could work in any other institution with a higher salary. Moreover, they expressed that they did not want their children to become supervisors.
