Abstract



In Republic Period, teacher efforts have been accelerated since 1924-1925 Teaching year and from this year until 1982 various changes were made in Primary School Teacher training process. Every primary school teacher has been thrown up from license degree in university since 1989-1990 Teaching year. Until 1974-1975 teaching year this process had been a model for music laden primary school teacher. But today musical characteristic of primary school teachers school be interrogated. Conditions of applying 1994- Primary School Music Lesson Teaching Curriculum should be determined. The purpose of the study is to determine competences of classroom teachers in music lessons and to collect their opinions about process. The sample consists of 218 female and 132 male, total 350 classroom teachers. Data were collected through a questionnaire developed by the author herself. Data were analyzed using as frequency, percentage and chi-square analysis. The results of study indicate that classroom teachers have not dealmusical knowkledge, musical skill and attempt for developing their musical performance and have not find sufficient themselves in music lessons.
