Abstract


The Reasons of Disciplinary Problems at State High Schools According to the Opinons of Administrators, Students, Teachers and Family Members
The goal of this study is to determine the reasons of students’ disciplinary problems at state high schools on the basis of administrators’, students’, teachers’ and family members’ opinions. Interview, which is one of the qualitative research techniques, is used in this study. The sample of the study is selected appropriate for maximum variation sampling. The study is carried out in four goverment high schools with 40 teachers, 40 students, 40 family members and 13 administrators. Totally 133 people are interviewed. The verbal data, which is selected with semistructured interviw technique, is analyzed within the phases; reducing data, presenting data and conclusion. With the percentage frequencies of datas in categories and with the help of the quotations taken directly interpretations are made. Some of the results of this study is that; the reasons of students’ disciplinary problems vary to some extent. The density changes according to the participants. The reasons about education system are emphasized mostly by the teachers and the administrators, the reasons about family are emphasized mostly by the family members, the reasons about the reaction to the teacher, grades, school and administration are mostly emphasized by the students. “Expressing oneself and wanting to be different” is the most underlined reason of all groups expect the family members.
