Abstract

Today individualized instruction has been importantly discussed. One of these methods is programmed instruction. Programmed instruction that has been currently applied since 1955 in many countries, however, in our country only few sutudies have made on this subject. İn this study, the programmed instruction appiled to fourth grade students in Social Science classes 58 students have took part in the study, 29 of them were chosen as experimental group and 29 of them were control group. Experimental group studied the unit by the means of programmed instruction material on the other hand, control group studiet the unit by the help a teacher. A primary test has applied to both of the groups then the final test has applied to both groups after the instruction. After the datas are collected that are belonged to the groups, the analysis of datas are determined by using “ t ” value. Finally, between the averages of both two groups a meaningful difference fount in favour of the experimental group.
